Snow White

"Snow White"

"Snow White" is a story of the Grimm Brothers' fairy tales. This is a famous story in the world.

Snow White was a beautiful girl. She had fair skin, so she was called Snow White.
His father remmaried a beautiful empress, but she was not as beautiful as Snow White, so she tried to kill her. However, she couldn't do that.
On the third time, Snow White ate a poisoned apple which her stepmother gave to her, and ahe sank into a deep sleep.
After a long time, a prince kissed her, and then she woke up!

This story was made into a movie recently.
It is old story, but it is still loved by girls around the world.

Japan and Canada

Japan has unique styles in houses, for example, kawara, tatami, and shoji.

Kawara is on the roof, and it has wavy shape.
Tatami is one of the carpets, and it is traditional. In the past, it was used as beds.
Shoji is Japanese traditional door.Japanese paper is used as a part of it, and we can get sunshine.

I think the biggest difference of buildings between Japan and Canada is bathrooms.
We separate the bathtabs and the toilets in Japan, but in Canada, they are in the same space.
It is uncommon in Japan.

Vancouver Island

August 10
*Cathederal Grove
There are many large trees which have long histories.
They will remain long in history in the future, too.......

The view was wonderful and beyond expression.

We came across a pig!

August 14
*Chemainus
We went to Chemainus!
Chemainus is a city which is famous for wall paintings.
It was so amazing!! We took a lot of pictures.
After walking around, we ate ice cream.

We enjoyed the town!

Colliery Dam Park

I went hiking to Colliery Dam Park.

Before hiking, Dr.English taught about plants and animals.
He introduced many plants animals which we cannot see in Japan.

I tasted some blackberrys on the way to the park.
Les walked so fast that we couldn't keep up with him.

I did't come across any animals except dogs,
I enjoyed the natural landscape. I felt like getting close to nature.

Hiking is a good exercise!
I felt that the day's lunch was more delicioul than usual.
